About Me & this Blog

I've always been a traveller,
even when the borders of my country were closed and the big world was accessible only through books my grandfather read to me or the stories my friends shared. Because we couldn't step outside what was familiar to us, we travelled by transforming every daring and every philosophical discussion into a newly conquered land. Travelling for me is more than just about the physical distance that separates you from the spot you've chosen to leave and the one you are headed to.

Travelling is sometimes about the sad moments that bring out of you the fear and strength you've never imagined of possessing. One beautiful May day, not long after my 27th Birthday, I was diagnosed with cancer and the “ME” I knew for years burst into million pieces. On the same day began my longest travel, a journey to finding those pieces and putting them back together. Among the ups & downs I rediscovered my love for writing and how much happiness & beauty I've captured in the pages of my journal.

Travelling is also about the happy & odd moments in a single day. Even ordinary circumstances possess the power of a distant travel, like the quiet whisper of the rain close to your window or when people suddenly start dancing on the street for no reason. In a way these metaphorical travels have taught me to keep my eyes open for the little things that posses the power to transform.

Finally, travelling is mostly about all the beautiful places that happen to you, when you are hardly looking or expecting them. These daily happenings are what this blog is about.

And who am I?  I’m Bulgarian by origin, Greek by blood, German by passport, English in writing, Spanish by choice and a Gypsy by soul. I love taking all my belongings to new places, settling among the crowds unnoticed, spending endless hours in coffee houses. I love talking to strangers, getting to know their personal journeys and writing about them in letters addressed to all the strangers who are willing to spare a few moments of their day to take a metaphorical travel with the help of my stories.
